Evanescent

Daily Prompt: WordPress Challenge: Evanescent

Your glow is dimming, ever so gently

taking your glare with you, fading into the abyss

I start to look, for any sign

perhaps some footsteps, left by your shadow

and find hollow instead.

Your existence,

a fleeting moment,

an evanescence.

The pictures below were taken during a precious moment in my life. I didn’t know it yet then that it was a period of change, that my life would forever change because I came to the place shown in these images. The place represents tranquility, peace, a time for contemplation, but it also now holds a grief. The place always reminds me of certain individuals who I keep close to my heart, but I don’t know why I somehow feel that they are drifting away.  I’m afraid that they are slowly…becoming an evanescence.

Please tell me that this is just my fear, that my thinking has no ground. Please tell me so.

  1. This looks like such a beautiful place, and love all the shots you took. They all seem to be shaded and shadowed, matching your sentiments. Things happen in life for a reason. Some people come and go in our lives, but some will stay. And some will reappear once again. Sorry to hear what you are feeling and I hope things get better for you soon. Sometimes I overthink things up until the point it leaves me depressed and anxious. When that happens, I have to tell myself to take a step back, stop and take things easy and perhaps go for a walk and see the world as it is.

    1. Thank you for your kind words, Mabel. I appreciate it and will remember your words. I also learn something new from your comments about my pictures. I’m not a photographer. Took all of my pictures using just my handphone (cell phone). Now that I look at those pictures and some other ones about that place, yes they do have a sentimental aura, reflecting how I felt probably when I took them. I realize now that how we take our pictures have a connection to how we feel at the time we take them. Thanks again for stopping by. I wish you the best with your blogging and writing. Hope to exchange some words of support with you in the future too. See you around the blogging world. Take care..

      1. I thought you took lovely pictures. With the leaf in the water, I thought it symbolised reflection and the one with the trees against the sky, looking upwards and outwards with hope 🙂
