Still An Icon

Image taken from @SpaceLiminalBot at twitter

it has its moment of glory
an icon representing its land
even a fame in the eyes of the world
what anyone would do
to have an everlasting pic of its beauty
while being inside it, of course

but every accolade has an ending
time catches up sooner or later
new technology was introduced to the game
new creation to cover mankind's
never ending new demands
one no longer needs a red box to communicate

so we bid farewell to one usefulness
and welcome its new functions
a bookstore window
a mini convenient store
an aesthetic addition to a dull surrounding
an eye catching part of a museum

I do thank God sometimes
for mankind's creativity

  1. This is such an amazing photograph to write a poem on. It brought back so many memories. I chose another picture but I’ll keep this one to write a poem in the future. Lovely poem! Thank you for sharing how people have found such innovative ways of using the telephone box.
