The Game

I

must have

put it down

somewhere inside,

console table – checked,

dining room table – checked,

anger – annoyed has thin line

hide and seek no longer my game

suddenly, one glimpse at the mirror

damn thing been perched on my head the whole time!

See, they think they’re good at this playful game

brain is likely directing the whole

he sits back, enjoys the moment

snaps fingers at the mirror

cues my eyes when to look

but I’ll show them all

who’s still the boss

I’m in charge,

no one

else
