Vanished

Her smiles

broad but nervous

stealing glances around

then rummage through her purse – checking,

that’s when

a scream from deep inside erupts

despair arrives after –

no sign of it,

vanished

      1. The purse came back through the post eventually, but the day in London was spent proving to the bank who I was and getting some money to purchase a train ticket home. So much for the day out – huh!
